Narrator: Kitchen, dinnertime, mommy and Xavier seated at the table and eating dinner. Mommy has nearly finished everything, except her avocado which she is eating with a spoon. There isn't much conversation because the air beneath the ceiling fan is moving, but stagnant nonetheless. The pair sit calmly refreshing themselves until Xavier begins to ponder.
Xavier: what you eating mommy?
Mommy: an avocado
Xavier: Oh that called avocado. Why you eating a avocado mommy?
Mommy: because it's yummy
Xavier: Why it's yummy?
Mommy: because it's delicious
Xavier: Why it's licious?
Mommy: because it's a fruit
Xavier: Why it's fuit?
Mommy: because it has a seed
Xavier: Why it have seed?
Mommy: To make more avocados
Xavier: Why it make more avocados?
Mommy: For me to eat
Xavier: Oh, why you eat avocado mommy?
Mommy: because it's yummy
Xavier: Why it's yummy?
Mommy: because it's delicious
Xavier: Why it's licious?
Mommy: because it's a fruit

Narrator: The scene ends abruptly when mommy stands and begins cleaning the dishes, breathing deeply to hide her frustration at her son's incessant line of questions. His smile that quickly flashes across his face shows a sense of triumph over his mother.
